Hollywood Movie Review – Spiderman No Way Home – Dazzling Cinema
My Rating – 4.5 out of 5
Plot Summary (Storyline) – Spiderman No Way Home
A much belated review of the movie which released last December! And this is by far the best Spiderman movie from MCU by a long mile!! Of all the movies that the MCU has spawned, particularly over the last 10-12 years, the Spiderman series has been the most fun type, in a carefree manner, which has endeared the character to the young and old alike. Those who have read the Marvel Comics in the comic book form (pre-digitization era), will remember Spidey that as that lovable next-door bloke, on whose head the Superhero mantle sits uneasy. That theme has been successfully carried forward in the live-action movies as well.
No Way Home begins where Far From Home had left off, with the vanquishing of Mysterio. But Mysterio’s final act was to declare to the world Spiderman’s real identity as Peter Parker. In this edition, that revelation has a profound impact on Peter and those who are close to him. As is usual with human society, there is an almost an even split between people who hate Spiderman and those who love him. The anti-Spiderman brigade is led by the dubious rag ‘The Daily Bugle’ who make it a point to direct their bile towards him and also instigate the masses to vilify and demonise Spiderman.Even Spidey’s girlfriend, MJ and his best buddy, Ned are not spared.
Even the trio’s application to MIT gets rejected because of the notoriety they have gathered, mostly because of Spiderman’s supposed infamy – more out of the fact that Stark Industry drones that rained destruction in London (Far From Home) than his earlier exploits where he saved more than half the world (as aprt of Avengers). A distraught Peter approaches Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast his spell (or use the ‘TIME’ stone) to erase everybody’s memory so that they forget that Peter Parker is Spiderman and he can go back to living his life in the shadows.
But as Dr. Strange begins casting the spell, Peter remembers that that would include all those dear to him as well – Aunt May, Happy Hogan, MJ and Ned. But this interruption causes the spell to misfire, resulting in all those who had known Peter from before and from other universes are pulled into this one. The Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Max and The Lizard all make this journey and though they had been bested by Spiderman in their original Universes (Multiverse), seeing Spiderman here gives them a second shot at eliminating their nemesis once and for all.
Similarly, the Spiderman of the earlier versions (they were in a different universe, mind you) are also called in – Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire and well, in this huge mix, they all come together for a fascinating climax! Trust Marvel to throw all that they have into making it a ‘Super-Climax’!!
Conclusion – Movie Review of Spiderman No Way home –
The emotions and packaging of this movie is what makes it better than the earlier iterations of the series, and all concerned have put in a power-packed performance as well. Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Willem Dafoe (Doc Ock), and Alfred Molina (Dr. Octavius) are all quite outstanding, contributing to this treat that is Spiderman No Way Home! In case, you haven’t watched it yet, do it as soon as possible. It is undoubtedly, one of the best Spiderman movies ever!!
