In Conversation with Elnaaz Norouzi…

Remember Zoya Mirza in Sacred Games? Yes, I am talking about none other than the gorgeous Elnaaz Norouzi!
First a little about Elnaaz Norouzi – She was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to Germany with her family. She was into modeling from the tender age of 14 and moved to India after school.
She has endorsed brands like Thums Up, Titan Raga, Canon, Samsung, etc. Her first big-screen debut was in a couple of Pakistani films, but her big break came with Netflix’s Sacred Games and ZEE5’s Abhay. She has a few music videos to her credit as well.
I caught up with Elnaaz Norouzi (remotely, of course) on this sultry Friday afternoon for a small, fun chat:
Me : Hi Elnaaz, Thank you so much for sparing the time to speak with me. So, what’s keeping you busy during these lockdown days?
EN: Hey Anirudh, well I used this opportunity of having all this time to take up a course at the New York film academy and it’s been so good so far, I’m fulltime studying and learning so much!
Me : Wow! That’s exciting!! So tell me Elnaaz, if you hadn’t been an actor, what would you be?
EN : Ha! I think I would have become a lawyer, I was always very interested in law…
Me : Alright…Who’s your favorite author and book?
EN : Hmm…My favorite Book is ‘Awaken the Giant Within’ by Anthony Robbins, he is truly my favorite!
Me : Great! How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
EN : I would say I’m Independent, a Risk Taker, Blunt, Fun-loving, and Persistent!
Me : On a slightly serious note, in life, what makes you smile and what scares you the most?
EN : What makes me smile is when I get positive feedback on my work when people come up to me and say they loved my acting! What scares me the most is inactivity and losing my loved ones.
Me : Very true…now a fun one! If I gave you an elephant, where would you hide it?
EN : In the Woods!!
Me : If you were an Ice-Cream flavor, which one would you be?
EN : Banana-Chocolate!
Me : Oh, interesting combo! If you ever got stranded on a remote island, and you could choose 5 items to have with you, which ones would they be?
EN : Umm…A book, my toothbrush, My Phone, My Moisturizer, a Swiss Knife
Me : Cool…. There’s a lot of bullying that happens in schools these days, what would you advise a kid from your family if he/she were subjected to bullying?
EN : Well Anirudh , I myself was bullied for many many years in school and high school and I never shared with my parents and I think that’s the worst thing a child can do.
So I would surely try and make the child comfortable enough to share with me or let their family know because no one can help us until and unless they know that help is required.
Me : Well said Elnaaz! Finally, after the lockdown ends, which film/serial will we see you next in?
EN : After Lockdown I will be seen in a Bollywood Film and hopefully if we get to release it this year, in a Tamil movie with Jayam Ravi as well!
